Valentino
UX and design for Valentino Red

Overview
Tokyo Digital led the user experience and design for the 2015 relaunch of Red Valentino. The project covered a mobile app, a website with full e-commerce functionality, and a digital magazine. Our role was to translate the brand’s playful, youthful identity into a cohesive and engaging digital experience.
Challenge
Red Valentino was growing into a distinct brand with its own identity, separate from the main Valentino line. Vogue noted its absence from Valentino’s flagship store in New York, suggesting a gap in brand integration and visibility. The collection itself blended whimsical, youthful themes with more mature elements, appealing to a wide demographic. Capturing this nuanced tone digitally—across multiple platforms—posed a creative challenge.
Solution
We created a seamless and expressive digital experience that reflected Red Valentino’s mix of charm and sophistication. The platform bridged traditional luxury aesthetics with a modern, mobile-first experience. Our work helped the brand strengthen its standalone presence and support its contribution to around 10 percent of Valentino Group’s sales at the time.
