Overview
Tokyo Digital partnered with Amplify to design and develop the digital platform for the global media and PR launch of adidas’ 4DFWD running shoe. The goal was to deliver an immersive virtual experience combining film, CGI, motion graphics, and interactive content to introduce adidas’ latest innovation to press and media partners worldwide.
Challenge
We needed to create a secure, high-performance platform capable of streaming nearly 30 minutes of HD content simultaneously across three major time zones. The content had to be visually rich, engaging, and accessible on various devices and bandwidths. Security was a top priority to protect unreleased media assets, and access had to be tightly controlled by invitation and time slot.
Solution
We built a bespoke virtual event platform using a robust AWS environment, deploying AWS MediaConvert to handle video-on-demand processing and multiscreen delivery. The platform managed user data, invitations, and scheduled access for the Americas, Europe, and East-Asia. The digital experience aligned with the innovation behind the 4DFWD shoe itself, which features a 3D-printed lattice midsole created using Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. This launch showcased how we could integrate advanced storytelling with technical delivery to match the ambition of a product developed from years of athlete data and cutting-edge manufacturing.
